OnShift's Workforce Management Suite of Software

OnShift HireWe live in a time where doing business the old, traditional way is no longer working.  There is so much change in the senior care industry right now and a lot more coming in the next several years.

Changing times and changing business models require innovation to adapt and continue to thrive.  For the past five years we at OnShift have strived to help you staff the right caregivers, at the right place, at the right time, day in and day out, so you can provide the high quality care your residents deserve. 

In working closely with nearly 2000 long-term care and senior living providers we heard time and again how difficult it is to find, hire and retain staff.  Healthcare has a unique problem in that the workforce has specific skill set requirements, so just anyone cannot be hired to fill a caregiver opening. Industry averages for the time between identifying the need to hire and actually filling a job opening range anywhere from 30-60 days; during those 30+ days, open shifts still need to be filled in order to properly care for patients and residents.  More often than not, staff work overtime or lean on staffing agencies or registry personnel to fill the gaps.  All of these activities lead to increasing costs, coming at a time when there is tremendous pressure on revenues. 

There has to be a better way.

And now there is. OnShift thought long and hard about this hiring problem. In working closely with clients we realized that one of the biggest challenges in properly staffing communites was the ability to pinpoint exactly how many people were needed on the roster in order to be properly staffed. 

We examined this problem inside and out, and that’s why I’m excited to introduce you to OnShift Insight and OnShift Hire.  OnShift Insight does exactly as the name implies. It provides insight into your hiring needs by analyzing staffing patterns on the schedule along with overtime, agency usage and unfilled shifts to suggest positions you need to hire and what shifts those positions need to fill.  OnShift Insight does this automatically and presents hiring recommendations to you, in a user-friendly, graphical format. 

It doesn’t stop there. OnShift Insight will automatically create a job requisition if you accept the hiring recommendation.  This is where OnShift Hire takes over.  OnShift Hire is a candidate sourcing and applicant tracking system designed to help you find candidates quickly and manage them through the hiring process to get the best candidates hired as quickly as possible.  OnShift Hire has powerful sourcing tools to help you put the word out as well as over 1000 sources for candidates looking for work.

Both OnShift Insight and OnShift Hire are designed to leverage the data we have in OnShift Schedule to automate the staffing process from end to end. In addition to the new products, we have introduced a new look and feel in our applications and on our web site.  It’s a fresher, more modern approach that we hope you enjoy.
