Thank You to All Senior Care Professionals During #NSNCW

May 15, 2023 | Peter Corless

Happy National Skilled Nursing Care Week! I’m thankful to all the professionals working in senior care – so many of whom have gone above and beyond to support their residents and fellow teammates by picking up extra shifts, taking on additional responsibilities, and providing consistent, thorough care in the face of unprecedented workforce challenges. And, I’m talking about caregivers at all levels of an organization – from the frontline to the back of the house to leadership!

This year’s theme, “Cultivating Kindness,” celebrates the many acts of kindness happening in skilled nursing care centers every day. I’m a huge fan of this theme, and I also think that we need to emphasize the importance of being kind to yourself. With burnout rates at an all-time high over the past few years, it’s never been more important to prioritize your mental and physical health. Even just granting yourself the same kindness and compassion you show toward others can go a long way in terms of self-care.

The strength and endurance you’ve shown over the past few years is nothing short of heroic. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated, and I want to thank you for everything you’ve done. You deserve this week to celebrate your efforts.

If you have not finalized your planning yet, check out AHCA’s list of suggested activities and be sure to share the fun you have for all the world to see on social media using #NSNCW. I know I love seeing all of the innovative things you all do around your communities during this annual celebration.

Have a wonderful week and cheers to the future!
