2021 Reflections And Wishes For A Happy 2022

Every year at OnShift, we select a word to help inspire us for the year ahead. But after the events of 2020, we wondered, what word could possibly best represent what waited for us in 2021? After much debate we landed on “thrive.” And I encouraged everyone here at OnShift to thrive at work, to thrive professionally and, most importantly, to thrive when it came to providing support to an industry that needed it now more than ever.

As we close out 2021, I can’t help but reflect on how I felt last year at this time. I was hopeful. I was optimistic. And I was right to be so. While COVID-19 is still very much part of our lives—and we’ve added to that the Great Resignation, inflation concerns, and vaccine skepticism—through it all, I’ve witnessed exceptional strength and patience from every one of you and your staff. I continue to be amazed by how you, our customers, can adapt and serve your communities.

The success and wellbeing of the senior care providers is at the forefront of everything we do at OnShift. Even if the healthcare industry changes, that never will.

This industry may have faced its fair share of challenges this year, but one thing is for sure—you all thrived. You took measures to open back up safely to keep your residents and staff safe as we continued through the pandemic. You looked to your staff, the true heroes in all of this, and found creative ways to continuously support and encourage them in 2021. And I know, as we move to a new year, the resilience and creativity of this industry will continue to grow, strengthen and yes, of course, thrive.

As we head into another year that is sure to be filled with new challenges and opportunities, I hope you all get a chance to relax, enjoy family and friends, and celebrate the spirit of the season. We have a lot of exciting things coming our way in 2022 and I’m looking forward to diving in!
