Argentum Introduces New Senior Living Works Program Resources

February 20, 2019 | James Balda

Argentum introduces new senior living works programAs I’ve talked to senior living operators, I’ve had a chance to learn about the many relationships we have with colleges and universities. I’ve seen successful recruiting fairs, connections with placement offices, and customized training for our new and existing workers.

But I’ve also seen a lot of frustration. It’s hard to figure out what programs exist where we operate. Or what kinds of degrees and certificates they lead to. Or whether students are even completing those programs in sufficient numbers for us to make a good connection.

Enter Education Pipeline, Argentum’s newest—and free—resource as part of our Senior Living Works initiative. Education Pipeline puts you in control: simply enter a senior living occupation and a state, and you’ll find a sortable list of schools, their relevant programs of study, and the number of students completing those programs in the last two years. You can then filter the results by length of program and type of degree, and narrow the results down to specific counties.

We are already hearing from HR leaders and recruiters on the value of this resource. Having a snapshot on the full range of programs in an area, companies can make informed choices about which schools they’ll focus on for referrals and career fairs. If there’s a gap for critical occupations—for example, if there aren’t many certified nursing assistant programs in the area—that can be a chance to talk to a dean or instructor about the kinds of degrees and certificates that are in high demand.

That’s where the rest of our Senior Living Works program comes in. Our growing library of tools, resources, and best practices can help you raise awareness of senior living careers and make the most of your education connections. Make sure you check out seniorliving.works to build your own education and workforce pipeline.
