National Assisted Living Week: “Family is Forever”

It’s National Assisted Living Week and all of us at OnShift are thrilled to be joining in the festivities by recognizing the important role that assisted living plays in caring for our nation’s senior and disabled populations. It takes a lot of hands to carry the load when it comes to providing the best possible care. From residents and staff to family members and volunteers, everyone has a part to play.

This year’s theme is “Family is Forever.” And that theme is especially appropriate given how many assisted living communities were affected by the recent hurricanes in the southern U.S. Caregivers went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety of residents, and for that, we thank you. To help, OnShift raised relief funds from our office in Ohio, but our efforts truly pale in comparison to your unwavering commitment to those that you serve, even in these life-threatening conditions.

It takes a deep level of compassion and willingness to go above and beyond to provide the quality of care necessary to keep residents feeling safe and supported. As assisted living staff so expertly demonstrate this level of compassion and commitment on a daily basis, it’s no wonder that the relationships that are formed look and feel a lot like family.

While the work is rewarding and the bonds formed between caregivers and staff are not easily broken, it’s no small feat to provide such a high level of care. That’s why everyone here at OnShift wanted to take a moment to say, thank you and happy National Assisted Living Week. We celebrate all assisted living communities that provide such a great home for their residents!
