ODPi is a program supported by the Linux Foundation and is instrumental in building an ecosystem around Hadoop and Big Data environments. Hadoop is an open-source, Java-based programming framework that supports the processing and storage of extremely large data sets in a distributed computing environment. Only 30 percent of Fortune 500 companies so far have adopted Hadoop.
