Aliens and Senior CareLabor Management? You Bet!

Just the other day my son was sitting at the kitchen table drawing with one of his friends (picture about a hundred crayons rolling around, stacks of papers, and a lot of giggling). An alien creature of some sort was in production when I noticed his buddy staring intently at the alien-to-be. Next thing you know, the two of them were discussing the best way to create this alien: how many eyes it should have, how strong it would be, and how the alien’s sister-zapper super power could really come in handy. Their in-depth discussion led to an alien picture that they were very proud of, and then inspired them to draw a series of related creatures. Quite a few of these drawings even landed on the ‘fridge for a week – a sure sign of success for any 6-year old child. What I found interesting about this exchange is that the two boys were sharing ideas and even what I’d deem best practices. Sam insisted that one large eye is better than two, because one-eyed aliens are the coolest ones around. Casey followed up with why the alien should have a secret power field so he could never be defeated. And on the discussion went…

It’s with best practices and sharing experiences of what’s worked and what hasn’t that we can all learn from to improve our products, services, programs, and businesses. That’s why you should spend a few minutes exploring next week’s webinar, Five Star Success with Labor Management Best Practices. Kip Kransdorf from Five Star Quality Care will share his story of Five Star’s journey in labor management, and the practices that make their strategy tick. His labor management program has delivered huge results, from eliminating millions in agency usage to significant overtime reduction, all while boosting staff satisfaction and quality of care.

While I can’t promise aliens, I can promise a lively discussion and fruitful best practices that you can apply to your labor management strategy today. You can even ask your own questions during the live Q&A portion of the event. Be sure to register for the June 22nd webinar at http://video.webcasts.com/events/pmny001/viewer/index.jsp?eventid=38744&adid=ONS. See you then!
