I hope everyone has had a wonderful National Skilled Nursing Week so far. While AHCA has a knack for coming up with thoughtful themes, this year’s theme, “Live Soulfully,” is a particularly powerful one.
With this theme, AHCA prompts people with these questions: “What are you doing for yourself and others every day? What makes you happy? How are you contributing to your happiness and the happiness of others?”
I love that while this message focuses on the excellent care of the residents you serve, it also promotes self-care. This is something that is often overlooked but so important in life. You can’t be your best self for others if you are neglecting your own health and happiness. So, be sure to take the time do the things you love and take care of yourself physically and emotionally. When you do, everybody wins.
To celebrate this year, we visited our friends at Montefiore, who are definitely living soulfully. Everyone was delightful to chat with and there seemed be a sense of camaraderie and closeness among employees, managers, and their wonderful President & CEO, Seth Vilensky. We put together this short video to show you what a fun and spirited group they are.
