Staff Scheduling Software
OnShift is the most unique and effective staff scheduling software available. Here’s why:
Multi-mode Delivery
OnShift is the only provider that can simultaneously send alerts via text message, email and using Interactive Voice Response (IVR). Most technology competitors to OnShift offer only text messaging or IVR.
Intelligent, Comprehensive Response Management
OnShift is the only provider that allows a recipient to respond to the message. As responses are received, positive answers are filtered and potential for overtime is calculated and presented to the scheduler. If the scheduler chooses to assign an employee that will be in overtime with this shift, OnShift automatically routes a message to the employees’ supervisor for approval of the overtime. Text messages are used because they realistic to the industry—very few off-work employees or busy supervisors are as readily available by computer. Managers are often on the shift floor, or in the ward providing care to patients—not glued to a computer screen.
All responses are tracked and reported. When a recipient accepts a shift, an auto-generated alert is sent to the original recipients, notifying them that the shift has been filled.
Recipient Certifications and Categorization
OnShift allows the system administrator to create multiple certifications and categories and assign employees to them. Certifications are correlated to shift requirements so only qualified personnel are assigned to the appropriate shifts. When sending a call-off alert, OnShift will automatically select one or more categories, based on the shift requirements, to receive the alert. This allows OnShift to have a high degree of automation in planning schedules and managing call-offs, and insures that only the qualified employees receive alerts.
Integrated Scheduling
Tightly coupling the scheduling module and the communications module provides a great degree of automation, in both scheduling and handling staffing emergencies. When a call-off occurs, the scheduler clicks a button on the schedule and OnShift automatically generates a message, selects the qualified employees, and dispatches the notice. The schedule is automatically updated when a recipient responds to a notice positively.
Carrier Independent
OnShift does not require specific mobile carrier services to operate. Most low-cost text message providers rely on SMTP, an email protocol, to deliver communication. SMTP requires specifying which carrier will be receiving the message. The method employed by OnShift is both low-cost and carrier independent, so that users can freely switch mobile carriers without updating the system. Some mobile carriers do not support SMPT systems, but these carriers will be able to accept messages from the OnShift staff scheduling software without complication.
Cost Advantage
OnShift technology makes it possible to provide mobile text communication for our customers at a fraction of what other traditional methods cost and competitors charge. Companies using OnShift can expect to spend $3,500 less than they would if attempting to “build” their own mobile-enabled alert system. The simple, pre-built OnShift system is not only one of the least-expensive options on the market, it will also save your company valuable time and money by reducing the time spent in call-off and staffing shortage resolution.
