Improving staff stability and retention is a top priority for long-term care and senior living organizations, as nursing turnover averages 50% in the industry. This session will examine strategies and proven practices that providers can adopt as they work to meet the AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative goal of improving staff stability 15% by March 2015.

“The impact of employee turnover can be felt across all areas of a community and may jeopardize quality of care, patient and resident satisfaction and organizational finances,” stated Irene Fleshner, Principal - Reno Davis & Assoc. Inc. and SVP Strategic Nursing Initiatives - Genesis HealthCare. “Fortunately, employee-centric practices and policies can make a significant difference in improving staff stability so positive operational, clinical and financial outcomes can be achieved consistently.”

“So much can be done in the area of employee engagement and retention,” stated Mark Woodka, CEO - OnShift. “Finding, hiring and keeping quality employees can be a challenge, but there are a multitude of ways providers can address their issues and see significant improvements. I’m looking forward to partnering with Irene for an interactive discussion and sharing of best practices so that providers can focus on their most valuable asset, their employees.
